‘Cycle against Torture 2019′ is a relay cycle ride from Hastings to Edinburgh in July 2019. It will start from Hastings on July 1st, then visit places where there are FfT centres and/or groups, finishing in Edinburgh on Sunday 28th July. Phew! We are working hard at a plan that will include as many supporters as possible in a wide range of ways. We have set up a team fund-raising page where you can add your own team or support one already there. This is very important so that we can maximise funds raised!
Get in touch to be on our updates list if you are not already getting regular updates directly. You don’t have to be a cyclist to be involved! We need all sorts of support .
The pages here will be updated as plans (and muscles) become firmer, so do keep checking in. Our dedicated email address for this project is firstname.lastname@example.org
Freedom from Torture helps torture survivors rebuild their lives. Since 1985 when it was set up, more than 57,000 people have been referred for help. Its staff and volunteers provide medical and social care, psychological and physical therapy and medico-legal reports to support asylum appeals. Freedom from Torture educates the public and decision makers about torture and its consequences, and strives to ensure that the UK honours its international obligations towards survivors of torture, asylum seekers and refugees. The main treatment centre and administrative HQ is in London, with other centres in Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle. We support the work of all centres.
